magazine 8.2
As the logo in the cover-image on the left suggests, issue 8.2 is a 16-page
full-color magazine devoted to the D.G.I.F. convention held on July 13 this
year. The second page opens the issue with a hand-written note from Deborah
herself. Among other things, she thanx the fans for helping the day go
smoothly. The third page features a letter from the editor (Jennifer Mussi,
a fellow fan) and a list of the 20 awards presented to D.G.I.F. fans for
reasons varying from "Most money earned in the D.G.I.F. fundraiser" to
"Convention participant with lowest membership number (#138)". On the page
after that we find a report of the Trivia Contest held during the DebCon.
Ramon Matos of Miami won the contest and the prize: an autographed Planet
Hollywood jacket.

Page five covers the Question and Answer session held with Deborah, Buddy
Casimano and Stepp Stewart (see picture on the right). After the first official
announcement that she will be playing Funny Girl on stage (on-line fans already
knew this weeks earlier, of course ;-) Deborah answered questions about her
music, drugs, and even one on the possibility of a "President Gibson"! The
sixth page of the magazine covers the rare collectibles auction, raffle, and
art and photography contest. On page seven the winning stories in the "Best
Original Story" and "Best Personal Story" contests are printed.
Center pages 8 and 9 are taken up by a big collage of a lot of small pictures
taken during the convention day and the concert that topped it off. One of
those pictures is shown here on the left. The page after that shows costumes
Deborah has worn for tours, photo shoots and stage performances. They were on
display at the convention. Page eleven covers the videos that were running
during the convention, and the room decoration.
On page 12 Geordan compiled the results of the convention survey. Most notable
(IMHO) answers were two votes of people who'd love to see Deborah play the role
of Princess Lea in Star Wars...

Both page 13 and 14 each contain a review of the wonderful performance Deborah gave at the end of the convention day.
Page 15 features a few notes from fans regarding the convention. Finally, on
the back cover is a huge picture (shown on the right) of Deborah and some fans
lucky enough to get invited on stage for the grand finale of the concert:
singing and dancing all together for "We Could Be Together". See that
enthusiastic girl on Deborah's right, wearing her "Let's Run Away" T-Shirt?
That's the one and only Britta!
